24 Week Update

I had my 24 week appointment this week and got to hear our sweet boy’s heartbeat again. I also got to meet another one of the doctors that we’ll be seeing throughout the pregnancy. Here in CH, we’ll only have 3 doctors, whereas in Charlotte, I had about 12 that I would have rotated through. I definitely like the 3 person team better for when delivery time comes.

We started our prepared childbirth classes on Sunday (MUCH more to come on this) and signed up for a 4th trimester class, too: what to do with newborns. You can never be too prepared, right? I really want to get into a CPR class before he gets here but our schedules are so crazy over the next few months  that we might just have to wait until afterwards.

Baby size: Eggplant, about 1.5 lbs and a little over a foot tall!

Stretch marks: Nope!

Sleep: Just okay this week… Landon has been on the road and it has thrown the dogs a little off schedule. I don’t usually get up until after 7 but they’re ready anytime between 5:30-6:30. I’ve done well avoiding coffee as a pick-me-up (I’ve limited myself to 2-3 cups a week while pregnant).

Maternity clothes: On the hunt for cute dresses for maternity photos (where did you find YOUR pretty maternity photo dress?!?). Ordered a bunch from ASOS but not in love with any of them. Did get a cute pair of skinny jeans from ASOS though (skinny jeans + maternity = oxymoron) and a great shirt for fall. Now that we’re getting Fall weather, I’m 100% more likely to be living in my leggings and sweatshirts.

Gender:  still a boy!

Movement: I think we are going to have a soccer player on our hands. This little guy has been SO active for the past week. And as if he knows what I’m typing, he’s kicking me RIGHT NOW.

Best moment this week: 24 week appointment and hearing his heartbeat.

Food cravings: salad (but only romaine lettuce), tomatoes, lemon juice, orange juice, cocoa pebbles (I knoooowww), ice cream (really loving chocolate and caramel combos right now) and sausage for breakfast!

Food Aversions:  Grilled Chicken, Whole30 Buffalo wings (we used to have this weekly!), spinach and too ripe bananas (all of these still apply and have applied since day 1).

Anything making you queasy or sick: Smoothies. I tried to make a smoothie with spinach and fruit but it was too much, had to hand it off to LW to finish.

Missing anything: Long runs (and short runs), tuna tacos from Soul Gastrolounge, sushi with raw fish, runny eggs, IPAs, steak cooked rare to medium rare…

Symptoms: left hip pain is the most constant pain I’m feeling these days. Still trying to walk 3-4 miles a day but stopping if it gets TOO bad.
