29 Week Update!

I spent part of the week in Boston – my very last work trip before baby makes his appearance! Planes are not fun when you are 7 months pregnant, have a bladder that’s constantly full and you feel twice your normal size, but at least the flights aren’t too long. Work has been stressful lately – busier than normal and lots of pressure to get things done before I go out – so I took these awesome lavender shower tablets to Boston with me to help me relax in the mornings and at night, I used lavender oil before bed.

Baby size: A Hawaiian pineapple – almost 3 lbs and 16 inches long! He’s almost reached his birth height at this point, just have to fatten him up before January!

Stretch marks/heart burn/acid reflux:  No, no and no! (Not an ad, but I am loving this Mama Bee Belly Butter!)

Sleep: My wedge pillow is the greatest thing ever invented… but I still prefer to sleep on my back. I can’t wait to go back to back sleeping on my back once little man is here. Landon is freezing at night but I can’t sleep if it’s any hotter in the house, sooo we’re working on a compromise here (likely ending with him in a sweatshirt).

Maternity clothes: Still loving my jeans, leggings and basic tees.

Gender:  BOY!

Weight Gain: 26 lbs

Movement: I’ve been trying to capture his kicking/movement on video but this kid is not a performer. We were joking with our neighbors this weekend that he’s going to be the kid who walks and talks for the first time when we aren’t around. Even in the womb, as soon as I break out the camera, he stops moving… and same if I ask LW to come feel him, he just stops. My MIL did get to see him kick hard enough to make my belly move, but that was pure luck!

Best moment this week: buying our new car! We got a 2016 Highlander which will be big enough (and super safe!) for our sweet boys (baby W and the pups!). We’re getting used to the size but loving how it drives and rides!

Food cravings: Soup. I made Chicken Tortilla Soup this week and froze half of it. It makes a ton which is great for quick lunches/dinners. Fall weather just makes me crave soup in general.

Food Aversions:  vinegar and the smell of whiskey.

Anything making you queasy or sick: no, thankfully!

Missing anything: sweets! Trying to cut back before I do the 3 hour glucose tolerance test – even though I know that’s not quite how it works. I also miss coffee… I think it’s due to Day Light Savings though. I’ve been fine without it for most of the pregnancy (I only have 1 cup each day on the weekends) but now I want it everyday.

Symptoms:  just sore feet – may have to get more frequent pedicures (at least until Landon is done traveling).

We met with a Doula who we plan to hire (she also does placenta encapsulation!) and booked our maternity photos. We’re slowly making progress on crossing things off of our to-do list. We are super excited for our baby shower in Virginia this weekend!
