Sleep: Sleep has halted this week. It started getting bad last week… lots of restlessness, insomnia in the middle of the night, low back pain and sore hips. I am now tossing and turning all night long and waking up for an hour or two at a time (WIDE AWAKE). I guess people say this is my body getting me ready for baby but I say that it’s hell.
Maternity clothes: Vests, cardigans and leggings. Jeans are not comfortable… also, I need layers because I get hot VERY easily and need to easily be able to remove layers.
Gender: BOY! (still… not changing)
Weight Gain: 30 lbs (hoping to hold steady here for the rest of the pregnancy – and with no major swelling!)
Movement: Still very active but does not want to be caught on video. Landon has gotten to feel several of the BIG kicks/movements and sees why I sometimes say they’re uncomfortable. There was one night when I was wide awake and didn’t feel him moving so I freaked out…. but after talking with the doctor she wasn’t concerned and he was more active than ever the next day so we’ll just chalk it up to him trying to sleep while mama couldn’t.
Best moment this week: Our baby shower thrown by my SIL and MIL.
Food cravings: Peppermint hot chocolate with whipped cream << ALL DAY EVERY DAY!
Food Aversions: fish (other than salmon) and curry
Anything making you queasy or sick: dog farts… of course they were so bad last night that even the dog who was guilty left the room.
Missing anything: all the things pregnant women can’t have but I am so excited about being so close to having them all again. First up, Hop Drop N’ Roll as soon as I have this baby!
Symptoms: sore hips, sore feet, and exhausted. I get winded more easily now… stairs and hills are tough but we’re still managing to walk 2-3 miles a day.
We’re getting very excited about the arrival of our little man – and a little anxious, too! We have gotten most of our ‘needed’ items at this point (our bassinet arrived today!) and we’re feeling much more ready to bring our baby home. It is definitely feeling more real now. We’re trying to take advantage of our time together in the next few weeks with day trips, date nights and doing baby things (like our breastfeeding class) together so we’re on the same page. Definitely soaking up this time and enjoying our last holidays as a family of TWO!
Also, we got our pictures back from Anna Routh and are OVER THE MOON happy with them!
Exciting! Congratulations on your little guy – boys are so great! And lovely photos. ^_^
